Buying Guide

Getting Lubrication Right

Most bearing failures trace back to lubrication. Three rules cover most of it.

Step 01

Do not mix greases

Incompatible thickeners can soften into slurry. When changing grease type, purge the old grease thoroughly or relube more frequently through the transition.

Step 02

Right amount, not maximum

Overgreasing overheats bearings and blows seals. Fill housings to a third or half free space and follow quantity guidance per bearing size.

Step 03

Schedule beats memory

Fixed intervals on a wall chart, or automatic lubricators on critical points, outperform greasing whenever someone remembers.

Standards

Standards and Quality

Specified, tested grease properties rather than generic drum labels.

NLGI

Consistency Grades

Every stocked grease carries a defined NLGI grade, so pumpability and retention are predictable.

DIN 51825

Rolling Bearing Greases

Bearing greases meeting the DIN classification for load, speed and temperature.

NSF H1

Food Grade Registration

Incidental food contact greases with NSF H1 registration for audit compliance.

Shelf Life

Fresh Stock Rotation

Grease stock is rotated and date-checked, because grease ages even in the tube.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about lubrication solutions, answered by our counter team.

Which grease should I use for electric motors?

Most motor bearings run best on a polyurea or lithium-complex NLGI 2 or 3 grease with moderate base oil viscosity. Tell us the motor frame, speed and ambient temperature and we will name a specific product.

Can I mix the new grease with what is already in the bearing?

Only if the thickeners are compatible. Lithium with lithium is generally fine; polyurea with lithium often is not. Share both product names and we will check the compatibility chart.

How much grease does a bearing need?

A common rule is grams equal to bearing outer diameter in mm times width in mm times 0.005 for replenishment. We will give exact quantities and intervals for your bearing list.

Are automatic lubricators worth it?

On critical, hard-to-reach or frequently missed points, yes. A lubricator costs less than one unplanned bearing change and feeds grease continuously instead of in floods.
