Buying Guide

How to Specify the Right Bearing

Three checks that prevent most premature bearing failures before the order is placed.

Step 01

Match the designation exactly

Suffixes matter. A 6205 ZZ C3 is not a 6205 2RS CN. Read the full designation off the old bearing or the machine manual, including clearance and seal codes.

Step 02

Check load and speed

Confirm the dynamic load rating and limiting speed against your duty. Undersized bearings fail early; oversized ones cost more and can skid at light loads.

Step 03

Beware of counterfeits

Fake bearings are common in the open market. Buy from authorised channels, check laser markings and packaging, and ask us to verify anything suspicious.

Standards

Standards and Quality

The standards our stocked bearings are manufactured and dimensioned to.

ISO 15

Boundary Dimensions

Radial bearings follow ISO 15 dimension plans, so a given designation is interchangeable across brands.

ISO 355

Tapered Roller Dimensions

Metric tapered roller bearings conform to ISO 355 series for guaranteed fitment.

ISO 492

Tolerance Classes

Precision grades P0 through P4 as defined by ISO 492 for running accuracy.

ISO 1132

Internal Clearance

Radial clearance groups C2 to C5 per ISO 5753 and related standards for correct running fits.

Applications

Common Applications

How do I know if a bearing is genuine?

Check the laser marking, packaging quality and country of origin against the brand's published guidance. As authorised-channel suppliers we can verify serial and batch details with the manufacturer for anything doubtful.

What does the C3 suffix mean?

C3 is a larger-than-normal internal clearance. It is used where the inner ring runs hotter than the outer, such as electric motors, so the bearing does not go tight at operating temperature.

Can you supply imperial or inch-series bearings?

Yes. Inch tapered rollers and imperial deep groove series are available against order, usually within a few working days.

Do you help with bearing selection?

Yes. Share the shaft size, load, speed and application and we will recommend the correct designation, clearance and sealing, with options across brands and price points.

Need a bearing identified or priced?

Send us the designation or a photo of the old bearing on WhatsApp and we will confirm stock and quote the same working day.
