What is the difference between NU and NUP?

NU allows the inner and outer ring to float axially relative to each other, NUP adds a removable flange that locates the shaft in both directions.

Can this bearing take axial load?

NU takes none, NJ takes load in one direction only, NUP takes load in both directions but at a lower rating than a dedicated thrust bearing.

Why does my motor bearing need C3 clearance?

Motor inner rings run hotter than outer rings during operation, C3 clearance compensates so the bearing does not run tight at operating temperature.
