Buying Guide

Choosing the Right Series

Three checks before ordering a deep groove ball bearing.

Step 01

Match bore to shaft exactly

Confirm shaft diameter with a caliper rather than assuming from the old bearing's casting marks alone.

Step 02

Pick clearance for the application

C3 clearance suits motors that run hot on the inner ring; CN is the standard default for most general duty.

Step 03

Confirm sealing needs

2RS for dirty or wet environments, ZZ for lighter protection, open for oil-lubricated housings.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about deep groove ball bearings, answered by our counter team.

What is the difference between 6200 and 6300 series?

For the same bore size, 6300 series bearings have a larger outer diameter and higher load capacity than 6200 series, at the cost of a bulkier housing fit.

Can I get imperial bore sizes?

The stocked range is metric. Imperial bore deep groove bearings can be sourced against order, ask us for availability.

What does C3 clearance mean?

A larger-than-standard internal clearance, commonly used in electric motors where the inner ring runs hotter than the outer during operation.

Do you supply matched pairs for back-to-back mounting?

Deep groove bearings are not typically supplied as matched pairs, that requirement usually applies to angular contact bearings instead.
